Manchester United transfer news on deadline day

Manchester United have spent big this summer, including a world record fee for Paul Pogba, but more importantly early in a way more reminiscent of Sir Alex Ferguson than any of his successors.
Until Jose Mourinho, that is.
But while it may be a very quiet deadline day when it comes to bringing players in, Mourinho still has a squad with excess that could be sent out on loan or sold if the right bid comes in.
One man who does look likely to stay is Bastian Schweinsteiger (for now) after his press conference in Germany yesterday.
But for the likes of Marcos Rojo, the departure lounge may await. We'll bring you all the latest here throughout the day.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin latest        Manchester United are likely to miss out on  Sheffield United forward Dominic Calvert-  Lewin.                                                        Everton have agreed a £1.5million with the 19-  year-old, according to the Daily Mail.

United make addition to scouting network

Manchester United have added Gerardo Guzman to their scouting network after they succeeded in prizing him away from Atletico Madrid.
Spanish newspaper Ideal claim that he will assume his role at Old Trafford next month and will head up United's scouting operations in Spain.

Buhari in more trouble as he gets more despirate to fustrate Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB

The frustration of President Muhamadu Buhari over Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB and Biafra has led him into many silly mistakes, ranging from stopping radio-Biafra broadcasts; arresting radio-Biafra listeners; arresting radio-Biafra director, Nnamdi Kanu who is also the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB; continued illegal detention of the Biafran leader, Nnamdi Kanu; massacres of IPOB members protesting peacefully against the illegal detention of their leader; negotiations with Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, to convince Nnamdi Kanu to renounce Biafra; formation of fake splinter groups called TRIPOB and subsequently Re-IPOB splinter group.

But unfortunately for him, all his wisdom has always turned to foolishness and every perceived wise counsel has failed to achieve desired results instead backfires.
Stopping Radio-Biafra Backfired!

At the assumption of office in 2015, President Muhamadu Buhari could not wait but chase after radio-Biafra, in a bid to stop her sovereignty's  restoration.
He started by ordering Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation, NBC, to shut down radio-Biafra.

NBC tried but failed. Instead of shutting their mouth up since they could not shut radio-Biafra down, they went on air to claim that they have shut down radio-Biafra.

They did that to impress Buhari but little did they know that they were doing advertisements for Biafra's Restoration because before that time only but few people were aware of Nnamdi Kanu, Radio-Biafra, and IPOB. So Buhari's strategy backfired.

Nnamdi Kanu's Arrest And Continued Illegal Detention
Buhari, in his unwise wisdom, after getting Intelligence that Nnamdi Kanu was coming to Biafraland, quickly felt that arresting the leader and founder of IPOB would surely quench the agitation for a Biafran state. But again he created more international support and awareness for the Biafran struggle causing civilised world leaders to continually call for the release of Nnamdi Kanu.

Now world leaders see Buhari as a hypocrite who backs the independence of Palestinians and Western Saharan People but suppresses the same agitation in his own country.

Nnamdi Kanu's Continued Illegal Detention

Buhari, in a bid to stop Nnamdi Kanu and Biafra agitation, flouted competent court's order to unconditionally release Nnamdi Kanu, a mistake which has reduced Nigeria to a fantastically corrupt entity, according to ex-Prime Minister of Britain, David Cameron.
Other Silly Attempts Of Buhari Failed

In a bid to suppress Biafran activists from exercising their constitutional rights of peaceful agitations, protests and assembly, ordered the security agencies who were supposed to protect lives and property, to arrest,  shoot at sight and bury any Biafran activist seen protesting.

But again this act of genocide attracted the attention of Human Rights Organizations both locally and internationally: bodies like  International Society for Civil Liberties & the Rule of Law (Intersociety), on the 6th of June 2016, uncovered the existence of mass graves in the Onitsha Army Barracks where over 90 Biafrans were reportedly buried, after they were slaughtered by troops in Onitsha and nearby towns during the Biafra Hero's Day Remembrance; AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL on the other hand confirmed the genocide on 10th June, 2016 and said, "Opening fire on peaceful IPOB supporters and bystanders who clearly posed no threat to anyone is an outrageous use of unnecessary and excessive force and resulted in multiple deaths and injuries."

Buhari has run out of ideas on how to quench Biafran sovereignty but recently after the Secretary of States of USA, John Kerry, visited  the Sultan of Sokoto and northern governors, Buhari came up with the idea of forming online splinter groups of IPOB using Vanguard as a willing media tool.

One of the invisible groups called Re-IPOB claimed that they have sacked the founder of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, but they failed when they could not prove how possible it's to sack their boss; and like other past attempts failed on arrival this splinter-groups' approach has also failed because the splinter groups are not visible and the IPOB members who are in Aba, on 28th August 2016 converged to declare on Radio-Biafra that their members are intact...showing that IPOB members are impenetrable, dogged and determined just like their leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

Since all attempts of Buhari to stop Biafra Have failed, I advise him to follow the path of honour as his friend, David Cameron of Britain did, and conduct a referendum so that the masses would decide their fate just as Britons did....and surely Biafrans will vote to exit Nigeria.

Jack Wilshere looks ready to choose Crystal Palace after meeting with Alan Parden

Jack Wilshere looks ready to choose Crystal Palace after meeting with Alan Pardew

Crystal Palace are hoping to conclude a season-long loan deal for Jack Wilshere in an eye-catching move ahead of tomorrow’s transfer deadline.

Jack Wilshere looks to be on his way to Selhurst Park for a season-long loan
Wilshere met Palace manager Alan Pardew for talks earlier today after being inundated with interest from more than 20 clubs after Arsenal agreed to make him available for a temporary move.
Among the potential suitors are Celtic, Watford, Bournemouth and West Brom, while AS Roma and Valencia offered options abroad.
But Palace boss Pardew was quick to register his interest in the 24-year-old and they are now in pole position to land the midfielder, who would command a loan fee with Arsenal also wanting his £80,000-a-week wages to be covered.
The chance to stay in London, close to his young family, would appeal to Wilshere as he seeks to relaunch his fortunes. It would mark another intriguing late piece of business by Palace, who also agreed a season-long loan deal for Chelsea striker Loic Remy yesterday to follow on from the recent club record £27m signing of Christian Benteke.
Wilshere has played just 37 minutes for Arsenal this season and has slipped further down the pecking order following the arrival of £30m Granit Xhaka at The Emirates.
His lack of game time cost him a place in Sam Allardyce’s first England squad and his overall situation prompted Wilshere to seek talks over his future with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal’s only condition was that Wilshere would not be allowed to move to a top four club.         Wenger feels he has enough midfield cover to cope in the absence of Wilshere, who has been plagued by injuries and missed most of last season with a broken leg. He is also set to sell 21-year-old Serge Gnabry to Werder Bremen and Calum Chambers will join Middlesbrough on loan. Meanwhile, Wilfried Zaha will be staying at Palace after Tottenham dropped their interest in the winger.

Sagay, Ngige Odunmakin slam Speaker Dogara

SPEAKER DOGARA
CHAIRMAN of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay, SAN, picked holes in the comments of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara that he could not be investigated or interrogated over alleged padding of the 2016 budget. Yakubu-Dogara Arguing that Dogara goofed, Sagay said nobody is exempted from prosecution or interrogation. He said: “There is no such thing. There is no such legal status in the country. Any other person apart from the President, Vice President, governor and deputy governor can be investigated and prosecuted.

Apart from those two groups, there is no other person in this country, who enjoys any form of immunity against investigation, prosecution and interrogation. So, what he is saying is wrong.” Police can investigate anybody—Ngige Also speaking, Chief Emeka Ngige, SAN, said:  “If truly he said that, it is wrong because the Police can investigate anyone.  That is consistent with what I said on Fayose’s case that he can be investigated but not prosecuted because of immunity.  The Speaker does not have immunity like Fayose but he can be investigated by the Police but not indicted on the pages of the newspaper.

Even Buhari who is protected by immunity can be investigated by the Police but not prosecuted. The Police can do that by following due process.  They can write to the Clerk of the House, who is the administrative head of the House, if they want to do that.” It’s been turned to a family affair – Odumakin National Publicity Secretary of the Pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, Mr Yinka Odumakin, said the alleged budget scam had been turned to a family affair. “You should be able to put two and two together.

The confidence that he cannot be interrogated stems from the fact that the Presidency has said that there was no padded budget. So, it is clear that this is a family affair. There are probably some political calculations about this. Some people must have reasoned that if this reaches a logical conclusion and Dogara steps down, it will alter power rotations in the chambers. The party came in first to wade into the matter, second, the Presidency said it was not aware of any padded budget. So, what are we waiting for? The matter is over.”

BREAKING NEWS EFCC seizes Fayose’s multimillion-naira houses in Lagos, Abuja

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has seized some properties said to belong to Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State.

It was learnt that the properties located in the highbrow areas of Lagos and Abuja were seized as part of investigations into the N1.219bn the governor allegedly received from the Office of the National Security Adviser when Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd) held sway, through a former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, as well as some kickbacks he (Fayose) allegedly received from the Ekiti State Government contractors.

The anti-graft agency has also quizzed a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae, on his alleged role in the $15bn arms scam.

Falae was grilled by investigators at the commission’s office on Thursday.

Investigators told one of our correspondents that the seized houses belonging to Fayose were allegedly purchased with stolen funds and the EFCC invoked the Assets Forfeiture clause to seize the properties in line with Sections 28 and 34 of the EFCC (Establishment Act) 2004 and Section 13(1) of the Federal High Court Act, 2004.

The seizure came less than a month after the governor’s three Zenith Bank accounts were frozen by the anti-graft agency.

One of our correspondents, who visited two of the properties on 32 Yedseram Street and 44 Osun River Crescent, Maitama, Abuja, observed the inscriptions ‘EFCC, Keep Off’ on the fences.

According to court documents filed by the EFCC, the property on Osun River Crescent was bought by Fayose in the name of his London-based sister, Mrs. Moji Ladeji.

The governor reportedly pulled down the structure of one of the Abuja properties and started building a new one.

The two properties, which are uncompleted buildings, were said to be worth over N470m.

ENTERTAINMENT The truth about Dbanj’s marriage

Is popular pop singer, Dbanj married or not? Ever since social media went agog with the news that Dbanj had finally quit bachelorhood, this question has become the most asked among fans of the Kokomaster as he is fondly called.

Penultimate week, bloggers went to town with news that the pop singer got married to Lineo Kilgrow, who is reportedly an undergraduate of the University of Abuja.

To some, the news is a big deal while to others, it is an attempt by Dbanj to attract more attention to himself and ultimately, his music.

Even though fans are eager for Dbanj to divulge the true details, Sunday Scoop can authoritatively reveal that contrary to what is being reported in the entertainment circles, Dbanj did not have a court wedding.  What took place was a formal introduction ceremony as it is customary between a groom’s family and that of his bride-to-be.

It was learnt that Dbanj pleaded with his bride’s parents for the introduction to be hosted at his father’s house in Lagos because he did not want it to be an all-comers affair. Luckily, they were in support of his suggestion, a source told Sunday Scoop.

The introduction was witnessed by only close family members of the couple. The Kokomaster was unhappy the news leaked but was again comforted by the knowledge that bloggers got many of the facts wrong. According to his camp, he did not get married at Onigbongbo Registry, Ikeja, neither did the couple have a traditional introduction in Jos, Plateau State.

A source close to Dbanj told Sunday Scoop that Dbanj chose not to react to the news making the rounds.

“Dbanj has given so much information about himself to the public and he deserves to keep some things private and this is one of those things. He is not worried about losing female fans, he just wants his marriage and the impending white wedding off public radar,” the source said.
